1How much do you charge for dog walking and pet sitting?
See our services pages for the full price structures for each service.
2How many dogs are walked at any one time?
We firmly believe that dogs have more fun if they can play and interact with other dogs. All our dog walking groups are kept small with a maximum of 6 dogs per person. Groups are carefully selected with breed, age, sex and personality in mind and can be discussed with the owner at the consultation.
3Will I get to meet my dog walker?
Yes. We always offer a free face-to-face initial consultation in order to understand your dog’s personality and needs. This will also give you the chance to get to know us, and ask any questions you might have and find out how things work.
4Do you arrange picking up and dropping off the dogs?
We will pick up your dog from your home/place of work at set time agreed by you and then return them after their walk. In the event of wet weather, we'll also towel dry your dog before his return.
5Do you have insurance?
Yes. Furry Cross the Mersey are fully insured. Feel free to ask to see a copy of our insurance certificate.

No. The majority of our clients are happy to share a set of keys with us to enable us to collect and drop off your dog even if you are not home.
7Do you offer out of hours dog walking?
Yes we do, please contact us to arrange.
8What should I do if I need to cancel?
Please contact us by email or telephone giving at least 24 hours notice, for no charges to apply.
9What happens in case of an emergency?
In the unlikely event of an emergency, we will immediately call and notify you. In the original consultation, we ensure that we have all the family emergency contact details. If veterinary assistance is needed, we will take your dog to your named vet or, depending on the circumstances, to the nearest possible vet.
10Will my dog be supervised at all times?
Yes. Your dog will be under constant supervision by one of our experienced dog walkers, and will NEVER be left unattended. Your dog is only let off his or her lead if we have your written permission.
11Where do you walk dogs in Liverpool?
We will cater to your dog’s needs and current walking locations including, but not limited to: Sefton Park, Otterspool Promenade, Princes Park, Greenbank Park, Calderstones Park and Wavertree Playground. All of these mentioned walks, are safe and away from traffic however if you feel you dog would be better suited to a walk elsewhere, then we will try to accommodate this.

14What happens if my dog doesn’t get on with another dog?
We are always careful when selecting which dogs will walk together, if we find that dog's don't mix well within the group then we will switch accordingly and inform you of our decision. We want all of our dogs to enjoy their walk.

17I only require occasional walks for my dog, can you help?
Yes. We are happy to provide services as and when you require, assuming we have availability. We do recommend that you give as much notice as possible.
18Would you stay overnight at a customer's home to care for dogs?
Yes of course! Please see our pet sitting page for more details
19We have just got a puppy but we both work, what services do you provide for a puppy?
Ideally, puppies should go out every 2-3 hours. So, for example, if you are out at work for 8 hrs, we will come over twice during the day and let the puppy out, plus feed and cuddle the puppy. Another advantage of employing a dog walker for a puppy makes training much easier, we will work with your puppy to heel, sit, stay, etc. We will also be able to introduce them to other dogs, once they have received their vaccinations.
20What happens in bad weather?
We get wet! However, we will clean and dry your dog off as much as possible before returning.
21Can you administer my pet’s medication?
We are happy to administer medication for your pet(s), in accordance with your written instructions.
22Do your services cater for all breeds of dogs?
We meet all dogs before we walk them and each new dog is subject to a trial period regardless of reputation of particular breeds. Any instances of aggressive behaviour will be investigated and we reserve the right to refuse to walk any dog.
